Yuri Mantilla

Yuri Mantilla is an experienced international lawyer specializing in complex investment and commercial arbitration as well as public international law disputes. Dual-qualified in the United States (Florida and Washington, DC) and France (Paris), Yuri brings a global perspective to his practice at Freshfields LLP in Paris, where he is a key member of both the international arbitration and public international law groups.

For over a decade, Yuri has successfully represented governments and private clients in a diverse range of disputes, with a particular focus on Latin America. His expertise spans a wide array of industries, including construction, energy, life sciences, technology, infrastructure, and natural resources. He has extensive experience with major arbitration rules, including ICC, ICSID, ICSID AF, UNCITRAL, CAM Santiago, and CRCICA, and has handled cases across Latin America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. Beyond his arbitration practice, Yuri is actively involved in public international law and state-to-state disputes, including matters before the World Trade Organization and the International Court of Justice.     

Adding to his legal acumen, Yuri holds an undergraduate degree in Finance and an MBA in Advanced Finance, giving him a distinct advantage in navigating complex damages calculations and quantum-related issues, including the advocacy of these matters before international tribunals. He is consistently recognized as a leading arbitration practitioner by prominent legal directories, featured in the Arbitration category of the Lexology Index (formerly Who's Who Legal) as a "Thought Leader - Global Elite" under 45 since 2025.
