Shruti Dhonde

Shruti Dhonde is an India-qualified lawyer with over three years of experience in complex domestic as well as cross-border dispute resolution. She holds a dual degree - Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws, i.e., B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) from Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai.

After graduating in 2023 and prior to pursuing the MIDS, Shruti worked as an Associate in the Mumbai office of the International Dispute Resolution and Investigations Team of Nishith Desai Associates (NDA), a GAR 100-ranked practice. At NDA, she represented clients across both ad hoc and institutional, commercial and investor-state arbitrations, alongside related court proceedings, commercial litigation, mediation, negotiation and white-collar crime matters. Shruti has also worked on third-party funding diligence. Her work spanned across areas like construction, financial services, intellectual property, technology, telecommunications and transport. She has appeared and pleaded before arbitral tribunals and courts in India.

Shruti complements her practice with sustained engagement in academic research and writing, and legal policy. Her analytical and thought-leadership articles on developments in Indian and international arbitration as well as transnational dispute resolution have been published on legal platforms like Global Arbitration Review, Jus Mundi and LexisNexis. While at NDA, she assisted in making recommendations to the Indian Ministry of Law & Justice on draft amendments to the Indian Arbitration Act.

Outside of disputes, Shruti is drawn to resolving mysteries before the author of the book does! She travels in search of the next backdrop for a nature-inspired poem, and in between, she finds time to practise kickboxing.
