Nicolás Rosero Espinosa has built his professional career in Colombia and Peru. He has worked at leading firms in the region, including Bullard Falla Ezcurra (Lima) and Estudio Echecopar (Baker McKenzie, Lima), where he served as a Senior Associate in the dispute resolution team and spearheaded the firm’s sports law practice. He has represented clients in commercial and investment arbitrations under the main international rules (ICSID, UNCITRAL, ICC, CIAC), with particular focus on disputes in the energy, gas, infrastructure, telecommunications, and agribusiness sectors. He has also acted as tribunal secretary, gaining valuable experience from the perspective of arbitral tribunals.
Nicolás graduated first in his class from the National University of Colombia, becoming one of the youngest lawyers in his country at the age of 20. He later obtained a Master’s in Sports Law and Management from ISDE (Madrid) with a merit-based scholarship and was awarded the MIDS - Young ICCA Scholarship in recognition of his trajectory. As a student, he was part of teams that won first place in major international commercial and investment arbitration competitions in Ibero-America, also earning individual awards as a distinguished oralist.
Alongside his professional practice, Nicolás is the author of specialized publications, including an article on investment arbitration awarded by CEIA-40 and published by Kluwer Arbitration. He is the founder of Arbitraje Alumni, director of COLVYAP, and an active member of various arbitration associations. He has taught at the university level and has spoken at international conferences in different countries, including ICC YAF and the Latin American Arbitration Congress (CLA). He has also coached teams that have received distinctions in international sports arbitration moots (SAM, SLAM, IFAM).
