Mariane Amorim is a Brazilian-qualified lawyer with over four years of experience in dispute resolution. Before joining the MIDS, she served as Counsel to the General Secretariat of CAMARB, a leading arbitral institution in Brazil, where she was responsible for drafting Board decisions, supervising case managers in arbitration, mediation, and dispute board proceedings, as well as overseeing the research and institutional development division.
Mariane has extensive experience in arbitration, having represented clients in proceedings under the Rules of major Brazilian and international institutions, such as ICC, CAM-CCBC, CAMARB and CBMA. Her practice has encompassed disputes in sectors including construction and infrastructure, energy, life sciences and corporate matters.
She graduated from the Federal University of Minas Gerais in 2022, receiving the highest honors for her LL.B. thesis. During her studies, she represented the university as an oralist at the Foreign Direct Investment International Arbitration Moot in 2021, where her team was awarded Second Highest Ranked Team and Second Best Memorandum. She also participated in and later coached the university’s team in several editions of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, including the 2025 team ranked 11th out of 385 teams worldwide. Mariane additionally served as Teaching Assistant for International Private Law and Brazilian Contract Law.
Alongside her institutional work, Mariane is actively engaged in legal education and research. She co-conducts the CAM-CCBC Legal Writing in Arbitration, training young practitioners in drafting effective submissions, and contributes to several initiatives aimed at promoting education in international dispute settlement in Brazil.
Mariane is a native Portuguese speaker, fluent in English and currently working toward fluency in French.
