Kopal Mittal

Kopal is an India-qualified lawyer with over four years of professional experience in arbitration and litigation. Before joining the MIDS, she worked in the international arbitration and dispute resolution team at Zeus Law Associates, Delhi. In this role, she worked on a plethora of ad-hoc international and domestic arbitrations and related pre and post-award legal proceedings. She has worked extensively in the Oil and Gas Sector and represented the Government of India in various arbitrations. 

She completed her B.A. LL.B (Hons.) from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University in 2020. During this time, she represented her university at the 16th Willem C. Vis (East) International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court Competition, 2019 and was adjudged the 16th finalist at the moot and the 3rd AIAC ICC Pre Moot. She further coached the 16th finalist team at the 18th Vis (East) Moot, 2021 and has continued to serve as an arbitrator at this Vis Moot. 

She also holds a diploma in Alternate Dispute Resolution from NALSAR University of Law and has also undertaken various certificate courses and a summer school in the said field.  

In her free time, she enjoys reading and dancing and also holds a master's in Kathak (Indian classical dance form).
