Jean Chai

Jean Chai holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) (LL.B.) from the National University of Singapore. During her undergraduate studies, she received recognition for excellence in mediation, winning both the Peacemakers' Prize in Mediation and the Singapore Mediation Centre Prize.

Jean's professional experience spans international organisations, dispute resolution centres, law firms, and in-house legal departments of multinational corporations. Her background includes internships at the Singapore International Mediation Centre, where she gained experience in cross-border commercial mediation, and at UNIDROIT in Rome, where she helped develop the Legal Guide on Collaborative Legal Structures for Agricultural Enterprises under UNIDROIT’s 2024-2025 Work Programme. Jean also served as a Young IP Mediator with the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore, supporting the mediation of IP disputes under the WIPO-Singapore ASEAN Mediation Programme. 

To complement her professional and academic experience, Jean has participated in several international mediation and negotiation competitions. She has also obtained certifications in mediation, international arbitration, and private international law through various institutions, including the Singapore Mediation Centre and the Hague Academy of International Law.
