Garv is a lawyer who helps clients with strategic advice and support in their endeavours, and with efficient representation in commercial disputes. He practices commercial laws and leads Skywards Law's international disputes, litigation and arbitration practice from their New Delhi office.
Garv has trained under practice leaders in multiple jurisdictions and has had the opportunity to act for and against individuals, companies, and state-owned entities in matters governed by Indian, Singapore and English laws; involving SIAC, ICC, LCIA, LMAA, AIAC, UNCITRAL, AAA & other rules, as well as ad hoc arbitration. He has also acted as counsel in various matters before the Supreme Court and various high courts in India, including the 7-Judge bench decision of the Supreme Court in In Re: Arbitration Agreements (2023) where he acted as counsel for the Petitioner.
He has dealt with a wide range of matters relating to international goods & services; intellectual property; aviation; technology; corporate affairs; mining; energy; construction and aerospace. Garv also has knowledge of the nuances of various dispute resolution mechanisms (including mediation & conciliation) and the practice of international tribunals. He is well known for providing tailor-made and efficient advice to senior leaders and boards of companies.
Apart from practice, Garv is an Honorary Professor of international arbitration at the National Law University, Delhi and has lectured and taken sessions for students at various Universities in Asia (including NLS; GNLU; NUS; NALSAR) and spoken at various conferences. He also sits on the India Committee of American Arbitration Association's ICDR.
Garv holds a dual bachelor's degree in Law and Commerce (from Gujarat National Law University; graduating with the GLAS Scholarship); a master's degree in international dispute resolution (from MIDS, Geneva on a full scholarship) and a second master's degree in arbitration from the National University of Singapore (on the CIL scholarship). He has also read law at The Hague Academy of International Law, the Netherlands (on the Mayor's Scholarship), the Paris Academy of Arbitration and the Singapore Investment Arbitration Academy.
