Bridget Aziaka is a Nigerian-qualified lawyer with demonstrable experience in contractual and commercial dispute settlement (Litigation and arbitration). She graduated with a Bachelor in Law from the Rivers State University and a Barrister at Law from the Nigerian Law School, Lagos.
Prior to the MIDS, Bridget practiced at one of Nigeria’s leading commercial law firms, Babalakin & Co., where she advised on complex contractual and commercial disputes. During her time as an Associate in Babalakin & Co., Bridget represented multinational corporations - making solo appearances - in high-stakes litigious matters. She also acted as party counsel in arbitral proceedings under the UNCITRAL rules. And as a registered Neutral (Arbitrator) of the Rivers State Multi-Door Courthouse (RSMDC), she occasionally served as secretary for arbitral tribunals.
Bridget’s professional experience extends to cross-border regulatory compliance and market access advisory. She garnered hands-on experience in international trade advisory during her time at TRANSAHARAN, an international trade consulting firm based in London. During her time as an International Compliance Officer at TRANSAHARAN, Bridget successfully advised a group of Ghanaian cocoa farmers on market entry requirements for exporting to the EU/UK markets.
Bridget is currently a member of several professional organizations, including the Young International Council for Commercial Arbitrators, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK, International Trade Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association-Section on Business Law and Association of Young Arbitrators.
