Amanda Andrade

Amanda is a Brazilian-qualified lawyer with over six years of experience in dispute resolution. Before joining the MIDS, she worked as a mid-level associate in the dispute resolution team at Bichara Advogados, a leading law firm based in São Paulo. In this role, she advised and represented a diverse portfolio of clients in both international and domestic disputes related to corporate, commercial, banking, and infrastructure issues.

Additionally, she served as a case manager at the Center for Arbitration and Mediation of the Chamber of Commerce Brazil-Canada (CAM-CCBC) and acted as secretary for several arbitral tribunals. These roles, combined with her experience as a lawyer, provided her with a comprehensive understanding of dispute resolution mechanisms from multiple perspectives.

During law school, Amanda co-coached the international law study group at her top-ranked Brazilian university (University Salvador) and participated as an oralist in the Willem C. Vis Moot Court Competition (2017-2018), which marked the beginning of her passion for international arbitration. She has also published academic articles and contributed chapters to books.

Eager to deepen her knowledge and expertise, Amanda participated in several intensive training programs and summer courses on international arbitration, mediation, and negotiation throughout her career. She is a member of various international arbitration networks, including Young ICCA, the CIArb Brazil Branch, and CAM-CCBC Newgen, where she actively seeks to create connections among practitioners in the field. Amanda is fluent in Portuguese and English and is currently enhancing her intermediate French skills.
