Ahmad Omar is a Senior Legal Counsel with over seven years of professional experience in corporate commercial law and dispute resolution across the Middle East and North Africa. He is admitted to the Egyptian Bar Association and is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Before joining the MIDS, Ahmad served as Senior Legal Counsel at TruKKer DMCC, where he advised on multi-jurisdictional corporate governance, compliance, and complex litigation across KSA, the UAE, Jordan, Egypt, and Oman. He previously practiced in the Dispute Resolution Department of Al Tamimi & Company, where he represented multinational corporations in high-value commercial disputes before Egyptian courts and arbitration forums, securing favorable judgments and settlements in matters involving claims exceeding USD 30 million. Ahmad also worked in corporate commercial practice at Ellaithy & Associates, where he drafted and negotiated cross-border agreements including shareholders’ agreements, joint ventures, and convertible financing instruments.
Beyond private practice, Ahmad has contributed to international organizations such as the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Case Matrix Network, where he provided research support on international criminal and human rights law. He also served as a mentor under the U.S.–Egypt Higher Education Initiative, reflecting his dedication to academic and professional development.
Ahmad holds an LL.B. and an LL.M. in International Law from Menoufia University, Egypt. He is fluent in Arabic and English, with a working knowledge of French. His academic and professional interests lie in Commercial Litigation, Arbitration, International Commercial Contracts, International Development and the intersection of corporate governance with cross-border dispute settlement.
