By virtue of the joint nature of the MIDS, students can take advantage of the services and facilities of two universities at once.
The Maison de la Paix and Uni Mail libraries offer access to a wide range of resources, physically or virtually, including books, scholarly articles, journals, archived materials, newspapers, and magazines. With inter-library borrowing services, you can also borrow books unavailable in Geneva but available in other Swiss libraries.
At both libraries, students can also reserve study rooms for collaborative projects or group assignments. Additionally, student lounges provide spaces to relax and recharge, or even play board games.

Along with access to materials in person at the UNIGE and Graduate Institute libraries, MIDS students also have access to a large number of resources online, including the publications of most major academic publishers as well as scientific databases, through the Swisscovery - external link research portal.
Librarians are also available to respond to questions and assist students in their research. Trainings and workshops to further your research skills are also offered throughout the academic year--independently of research support offered by the MIDS.
With dedicated email addresses and university platforms to track studies, students have access to a whole suite of advanced educational software. Dedicated IT support staff at both institutions ensure all problems are swiftly resolved.
Whether in need of a quick coffee, a light snack, or a hearty meal, the cafeterias at Maison de la Paix and Uni Mail provide a variety of nutritious and healthy options. They cater to various dietary preferences, consistently offering vegan, vegetarian, and regional dishes. Both locations also have student deals and discounts available.
Located on the top floor of the Maison de la Paix, with a large rooftop and a view on the lake, the mountains, and the UN's Palais des Nations, the "Terrasse de la Paix" restaurant offers a more formal dining option, ideal for special occasions or professional meetings.

Through the sports facilities provided by our parent institutions and as residents of Geneva, students have affordable and easy access to football, badminton, swimming, tennis, handball, ping-pong and volleyball. With wide-open parks and an ever-inviting lake, Geneva’s infrastructure is a great starting point to explore the outdoor activities and winter-sports that the rest of Switzerland has to offer.
Geneva is in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. Just like any international city, English is enough to get by comfortably in most situations outside the classroom. But we also encourage students to start developing some rudimentary French skills even before coming to Geneva, through independent study. Once in Geneva, students have the opportunity to enroll in French courses provided by our parent institutions.

Our students have access to a range of options, depending on their budget and preferences, to find their "home away from home" in Geneva.
The embodiment of a global city, a professional hub, and exceptionally comfortable to live in, Geneva is one of Europe's best kept secrets.
