Early February 2025
Applicants with complete applications receive instructions for MIDS-managed scholarship applications
By offering scholarships, we strive to attract the most talented students, regardless of where they are from or what obstacles they face.
The MIDS offers a limited number of scholarships each year; the number of scholarships and amount awarded vary from year to year.
Coverage ranges from full tuition to partial tuition support, with some scholarships also including partial living expense support.
MIDS-managed scholarships are awarded after a careful assessment of each application, considering both financial need and academic merit. Priority is given to outstanding students who would not otherwise be able to undertake the program.
The MIDS scholarship program is possible thanks to the generous support of its donors, among others:
Lévy Kaufmann-Kohler (external link) has been a significant partner of the MIDS since the program's inception in 2008. The Lévy Kaufmann-Kohler Scholarship covers the full tuition fees and partial living expenses during the program for one MIDS student each year.
LALIVE (external link) has shared a long-standing and impactful relationship with the MIDS, nearly since the program’s founding. The LALIVE Scholarship covers the full tuition fees and partial living expenses during the program for one MIDS student each year.
Established in 2021 by Three Crowns LLP (external link), the Jan Paulsson Scholarship provides support for one MIDS student from a developing economy who demonstrates financial need. Covering full tuition and partial living expenses, the scholarship honors the extraordinary legacy of Jan Paulsson—one of Three Crowns’ founding partners—and his steadfast commitment to mentoring and training junior practitioners.
The Epaminondas Lambadarios Scholarship was established in 2020 by the Lambadarios Law Firm (external link) in memoriam of Epaminondas Lambadarios. The scholarship partially covers tuition fees for one MIDS student who is a graduate of a Greek university. The recipient is selected on the basis of both academic merit and financial need, honoring the legacy of Epaminondas Lambadarios and his dedication to legal education and mentorship.
Young ICCA and the MIDS offers one Young ICCA member the possibility of receiving a scholarship to attend the MIDS program. Eligible candidates must be members of Young ICCA and are required to submit an additional motivation letter in their application. The scholarship covers the full tuition fees for one MIDS student each year.
The MIDS Alumni Scholarship Fund was established in 2018 to provide partial tuition support for one MIDS student each year.
The MIDS scholarship program also benefits from the generous support of anonymous donors who provide multiple partial tuition scholarships. These awards further expand the number of partial scholarships available to admitted students in need of financial support.
Only candidates admitted in the first admissions round are invited to apply for MIDS-managed scholarships. Scholarship applications must be submitted within one week of the admission notification.
The MIDS Admissions Committee reviews all scholarship applications. Applications are then forwarded to relevant donors, who make the final decision on awards.
The scholarship application file must include the following documents:
This form will be made available to applicants in early February and must be completed and submitted as part of the scholarship application.
A written statement outlining the applicant’s financial need and specifying why a partial or full scholarship is required to undertake the MIDS program.
Copies of official statements detailing income from the applicant and/or any other relevant individuals (e.g., family members or other financial supporters) who may be contributing financially.
An official statement from a bank or other savings institution, and/or tax forms, indicating available funds and assets that can support the applicant’s studies.
A list of other scholarships, grants, or funding (including loan applications or employer support) the applicant has pursued, along with copies of any responses received to date.
To apply for the MIDS-Young ICCA scholarship, applicants must submit an additional motivation letter (maximum two pages) to info@mids.ch (external link). Applicants must be Young ICCA members to be eligible for this scholarship.
